George J. Avlonitis is Visiting Professor in the Business Division of Hellenic American University and Professor emeritus of Marketing at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). Before joining the Athens University of Economics and Business he worked for the Department of Marketing at the University of Strathclyde, Scotland, from where he got his PhD. He has served as Deputy Chairman of the Academic Council of AUEB (2012-2016), and in 2017 was appointed Visiting Professor of Marketing at the University of Strathclyde, U.K. He has also served as President of the European Marketing Academy and Chairman of the Global Sales Science Institute and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing U.K. and the European Marketing Academy and one of the founders of the Greek Marketing Academy, of which he is also an elected President.
George is also on the editorial board of seven international Journals, and has served on the Board of various companies, and has conducted consulting assignments, research projects and educational programs in Marketing and Sales Management for companies in the private and public sector in Greece and abroad. His research interests include: Product Policy and Branding, Strategic Marketing, B2B Marketing, Sales Management, International Marketing.
