Petropoulou, Stamatia

Stamatia Petropoulou received her B.Sc. in International and European Studies from the University of Piraeus and holds a dual M.Sc. in Petroleum Economics and Management & Economy of Sustainable Development, Environment & Energy from the Institut Français du Petrole (IFP School). She began her career working for a major French gas operator and the sustainable deployment of the Gas Smart Meters project. She then moved to Singapore to work for a French oil and gas company in the marketing sector. While there, her enthusiasm for the maritime Industry matured and she joined the research and strategic planning department of a top regional containership operator company in Singapore. For the last six years she has been in Greece working for the safety department of a major tanker management shipping company. She is skilled in health, safety and quality initiatives, with a primary focus on incident preventive programs, improvement of safety culture, policy development and management system improvements. She is an adjunct faculty member at Hellenic American University and teaches in the MBA program.
