Vamvas, Vassos

Vassos Vamvas has more than 20 years of international professional experience in a broad spectrum of business fields including environmental engineering, industrial automation, construction, transportation, media, finance, energy and management consulting. He was a project manager with CDM in Boston, CEO of Innomedia in Boston, CEO of the Invest in Greece Organization, CEO of Themis Construction, General Director and member of the founding team of ALPHA TV, and General Director of the Hellenic Railways. Mr. Vamvas holds a Master's degree in electrical & computer engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and has partially completed the requirements for a Ph.D. degree in industrial engineering & operations research at the same university. He was then accepted by and attended Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government’s Master in Public Policy Program finally earning a Master's degree in Public Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he was also awarded a research assistant’s position at the MIT Energy Lab and a teaching assistant’s position for the graduate electrical engineering course in Stochastic Processes. His undergraduate degree is in electrical engineering from the University of Patras. Currently, he is a Senior Project Leader with a Boston headquartered management consulting firm, Baverstam Associates, and an Adjunct Professor at Hellenic American University where he teaches Strategy, Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
