Petropoulos, Ioannis

Ioannis Petropoulos holds a B.A. in English Literature from the American College of Greece, a Postgraduate Diploma in Comparative Literature and an M.A. in 19th and 20th century English and American Literature from the University of Essex, UK. He received his Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from Hellenic American University, and also holds a Diploma in Shipping and Business from Morley College, London. Dr. Petropoulos has been teaching English as a foreign and second language for forty-five years. Over the last thirty years he has taught college-level Composition Writing, Creative Writing, Fiction, Poetry, Literature, Literary Analysis and Business Communications, and for the last twenty years he has been teaching Literature, Critical Thinking and Public Speaking at Hellenic American University. Dr. Petropoulos has been conducting open and tailor-made corporate seminars on oral communication, advanced professional presentation skills, and interpersonal communication skills in business. He has also offered his services as Academic Coordinator for English language certification examinations and has been responsible for the promotion of English language programs, language testing and international certification in Southeast Europe and other parts of the world. Currently, he is an adjunct faculty member and teaches in the BAELL and General Education programs.
