Efthymiopoulos, Christos

Christos Efthymiopoulos is Research Director at the Center for Astronomy and Applied Mathematics of the Academy of Athens, with an interest in classical and quantum systems, astrodynamics and plasma physics. He has taught physics, astronomy and mathematics and has supervised doctoral students at many academic institutions around the world, including, among others, the University of Athens, the University of the Aegean, the University of Patras, the University of La Plata, Argentina, the University of Vienna and the University of Padova. Christos has published extensively and has received several awards for his research projects. He has been affiliated with the Biopolitics International Organisation (B.I.O.) since 1988. At Hellenic American College Dr. Efthymiopoulos teaches the course Sustainable Planet for the General Education Program.

Karapetsas, Vassilios

Karapetsas Vassilios holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication & Public Relations from The American College of Greece- Deree College. While obtaining his degree, he worked as a Journalist for Attica Media Publications. In 2001 he was nominated as the recipient of The Onassis Foundation Scholarship for Graduate Studies in Marketing Communications. He went to Boston, USA where he completed his MA degree in Integrated Marketing Communication from Emerson College, and worked as an Account Executive for Gray & Rice Public Relations. During that time, he also completed a semester at Harvard University before returning to Greece in 2005. For six years he worked for BCA College as Course Leader of the Communications Major, which he himself designed and was also later adopted by London Metropolitan University. In addition, while at BCA he functioned as Senior Lecturer in the subject areas of Communication, PR, Marketing and Public Speaking. He later worked as the International Student Services Coordinator for The American College of Greece - Deree College, and also served as a Communications and Marketing Advisor at a prestigious consulting institution in Athens until 2014 before working as an Admissions Officer and Senior Lecturer of Marketing and Public Relations for Mediterranean College. As of August 2016, Mr. Karapetsas is the Director of Student Affairs and International Programs at Hellenic American College and teaches Management and Marketing classes.

Holden Martin, Susan

Susan Holden Martin earned her law degree (J.D.) from the Massachusetts School of Law at Andover, Massachusetts, and an MBA in Human Resource Management and a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Franklin Pierce University. Ms. Martin is business manager for author and space historian Rod Pyle. She also serves as co-editor on new book projects, conducts 'deep dive' market research and analysis, provides advice as to social media marketing strategies, and maintains the author's social media accounts. Ms. Martin has developed and taught undergraduate and graduate courses business management and liberal arts programs at several New Hampshire colleges. At Hellenic American University she teaches courses in the MBA program.

Doumenis, Demosthenes

Demos Doumenis holds a B.Eng. in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and an M.Sc. in Communications and Signal Processing, both from Imperial College, London. He is the co-founder and Chief Technical Officer of Quantimetrica Ltd, UK, which specializes in embedded voice processing solutions to control devices remotely by voice commands. He has a career of more than 20 years in the electronics and telecommunications industry as a software/hardware engineer and manager and has been involved in several EU-funded R&D projects. Mr. Doumenis is an adjunct faculty member and teaches in the BSIT and BSE programs.

Salachas, Evangelos

Evangelos Salachas received his holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Athens Technological Educational Institute and an M.Sc. in Banking and Financial Management from the University of Piraeus. Recently, he received his Ph.D. in Business Administration from Athens University of Economics and Business. The area of his research was monetary policy, financial markets and banking operations. He worked as a teaching assistant at Athens University of Economics and Business and at the ALBA Business School in the undergraduate and graduate programs. From 2007 to 2010 he worked as e-banking executive at the Agricultural Bank of Greece.

Research Interests

Banking, monetary policy, international finance and corporate policy.
